Project Prima Volta Junior is the starting point for young singers who are curious about their voice and want to explore singing in a supportive group environment.

Many students who begin in PPV Junior later progress into Project Prima Volta Senior, where they rehearse and perform regularly with other committed young singers. Along the way they build confidence, musical skills, and friendships that often last for years — sometimes for life.

These reflections come from students who first discovered their voices through PPV junior and later continued their journey through PPV Senior, where young singers rehearse, learn and perform together regularly, sometimes for several years.

Project Prima Volta Junior introduces students to the foundations of singing. Participants explore vocal technique, musicianship, ensemble singing and performance in an encouraging environment designed to help young people discover what their voice can do.

Project Prima Volta is delivered by the Prima Volta Charitable Trust, whose vision is to enrich the community through high-quality singing experiences for rangatahi.

Participation in PPV Junior is completely free. Our selection process is not based on how experienced you already are, but on the curiosity and enthusiasm you bring to your audition.
